How it works

- Then we ask ChatGPT once, using the category Google filed you under.

Good to know
This reads your own profile only, so it reports what Google says rather than how you compare. The AI part is one question on one engine, so treat it as a gut check rather than a verdict. Free checks are capped at 3 a day without an account and 6 when you are signed in.
Why these four fields
Category, ownership, reviews and completeness are the fields both Google and an AI assistant read before deciding whether to put you in an answer. Everything else on the profile is trim. The category is the strongest of the four because it is the phrase your ranking is measured against, and it is also the phrase we use when we ask the AI about you.
What claiming actually changes
An unclaimed profile still shows up, so it is easy to assume nothing is wrong. What you lose is control: you cannot reply to reviews, you cannot correct hours or services, and edits suggested by strangers go live without you seeing them. Every downstream signal on this page depends on a profile someone is actually maintaining.
Ranking on the map is not the same as being named
A profile can rank perfectly well and still be too thin to be quoted. Assistants assemble a short answer from sources they trust, and a profile with a vague category, few reviews and no photos gives them very little to work with. That is why this tool ends with an AI question rather than starting with one.
What this check does not tell you
It reports what Google says, not how you compare. We deliberately do not call your review count high or low, because that needs a comparison set and this check pulls only your own profile. It is also one question on one engine on one day, and answers move between runs.
